Wolfgang Ikert was born in Berlin 1938. 1983 he got infected with the HI Virus. His partner at the time dies of AIDS. In 1999 he met his current partner Roland Schmid-Paleski. Through Roland, who is a poet, Wolfgang's life changes. He becomes a photographer. The couple founds a small publishing house called "Zwischenbereiche" and organises a Berlin salon with readings and music in their shared apartment in Moabit.
